Phil Dale

Founder and Director of Phoenix Theatre Arts

As well as running Phoenix Theatre Arts, Phil is also the Artistic Producer for the Rhodes in Bishops Stortford. Phoenix have produced the last six pantomimes at the Bishop's Stortford venue, five of which featured Phil as either Villain or Dame; as well as a community chorus of young performers, many of whom are students at Phoenix. As a freelance producer his work includes the ‘It’s Our Theatre’ project for the Arts Council of England which nurtured a love of performing arts for thousands of young people through a series of Hip Hop workshops and events. He also works extensively for the Jack Petchey Foundation in London, producing the Glee Club Challenge, a largescale project engaging music groups across London and the home counties. Phil studied at the London Centre for Theatre studies and was the Manager of Harlow Playhouse from 2001 until January 2008 where he produced and directed over 40 productions including Pantomime, Musicals and Shakespeare.
